Job Description

Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates is a leading reconstructive, hand and cosmetic surgery physician practice. Our state-of-the-art day surgery center is a complete, AAAHC-certified surgical facility providing patients with individualized care in a comfortable, private setting. We are looking for a Per-Diem X-Ray Technologist/Clinical Photographer to join our expanding practice at our new surgical center located at Rock Row Medical Campus in Westbrook, ME.
Position Summary:
This position involves a combination of obtaining hand and wrist X-rays as well as capturing pre- and post-procedure photographs for patients seen in clinic. Daily volume may vary; however, imaging is limited to hand and wrist studies, and photographic volume is typically greater than X-ray volume. Administrative responsibilities include loading patients into the system for surgical X-ray studies and auditing imaging studies to ensure proper documentation. The ideal candidate must be comfortable interacting with patients and able to maintain a warm, welcoming demeanor. Our clinic serves a diverse patient population, including individuals undergoing cosmetic procedures, those with hand-related conditions, and patients receiving cancer care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging of the hand and wrist per physician orders and established protocols. 2. Capture pre- and post-procedure photographs for clinical documentation. 3. Enter patients and orders into the imaging system and Trident machine for surgical x-ray studies. 4. Properly prepare and position patients to obtain accurate diagnostic images. 5. Follow radiation safety practices at all times. 6. Audit imaging studies for completeness and proper documentation. 7. Reconcile EMR charges with the logbook to ensure all X-rays are captured and billed. 8. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. 9. Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients throughout their visit. 10. Collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical, and administrative staff. 11. Maintain imaging equipment and report malfunctions or concerns. 12. Follow HIPAA, safety, and infection control guidelines/ 13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Training/Experience:
1. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program 2. Current state licensure required 3. BLS certification required 4. Experience with extremity imaging strongly preferred 5. Experience with clinical photography a plus
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
