This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in medical imaging, contribute to accurate diagnosis and patient care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of radiologic procedures, including X-ray, CT scans, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and sonography, ensuring precise imaging that supports effective treatment plans. Responsibilities Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety. Operate advanced imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, PET scanners, mammography units, DEXA scanners, and ultrasound devices with precision and care. Apply aseptic techniques and maintain strict infection control standards during all procedures. Accurately position patients to obtain optimal images while adhering to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure. Review images for quality assurance and collaborate with radiologists or physicians for diagnostic evaluation. Maintain detailed patient records, imaging logs, and ensure proper documentation of all procedures performed. Stay current with technological advancements in medical imaging and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills in areas like nuclear medicine, emergency room imaging, and trauma center protocols. Experience Proven experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, and sonography devices. Prior work in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly desirable. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers demonstrating proficiency in trauma-related imaging procedures. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately interpret imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluation. Familiarity with medical terminology and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining patient safety standards. Demonstrated ability to perform specialized imaging such as nuclear medicine procedures including PET scans and other advanced modalities like mammography or DEXA scans. Strong understanding of diagnostic radiology principles combined with excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction.
