Enrolled in Grand Itasca's Radiology Student Internship Program. Works under the supervision of the Imaging Department Director. Performs imaging exams under the Limited Scope X-ray Operator certification and all related duties.
Job Duties:
1. Performs imaging exams on patients of all ages; pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric. 2. Performs imaging exams in the clinic, outpatient, inpatient and emergency room areas. 3. Examines provider's orders to assure proper tests are completed. 4. Instructs and prepares patient for the exam. 5. Assures patient safety with the use of screening females of childbearing age for pregnancy, shielding, immobilization devices and appropriate age specific techniques. 6. Operates equipment accurately and efficiently using proper technical factors for radiological diagnosis. 7. Obtains and prepares images for reading. 8. Evaluates images for quality and technical clarity. 9. Avoids repeating exposure to patient. 10. Works various day shifts with a Radiologic Technologist present. 11. Other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Limited Scope X-ray Operator's Certification. 2. Enrolled and completing second or final year of Radiology Technology program at accredited school. 3. Ability to work a minimum of 16 hours per month on-site. 4. Basic Life Support certified or obtain within 4 months. 5. Good computer skills. 6. Good interpersonal communication skills. 7. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values. 8. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
