Job Description

Mercy is seeking an Advanced Rad Tech to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging in a patient-centered environment. In this role, you will perform advanced radiologic procedures, ensure accurate image acquisition, and collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to support diagnosis and treatment. You will follow strict radiation safety and infection control standards while providing compassionate care, education, and reassurance to patients. Responsibilities Perform advanced radiologic imaging procedures according to physician orders and protocols Operate imaging equipment safely, ensuring optimal image quality and radiation safety Position and prepare patients, explaining procedures and providing compassionate support Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support diagnosis and treatment plans Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation in PACS/RIS and EHR systems Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times Monitor patients during and after procedures, responding to urgent needs appropriately Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Advanced radiologic imaging techniques Operation of digital radiography equipment Fluoroscopy procedures Radiation safety and ALARA principles PACS and RIS systems Patient positioning and immobilization Contrast administration and monitoring Infection control practices Basic life support (BLS) Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
