X-Ray Technician

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated X-Ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will operate radiologic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in evaluating and diagnosing medical conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, radiation safety, and technical excellence. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in various imaging modalities, including radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, mammography, and nuclear medicine, with the ability to adapt to diverse clinical settings such as urgent care, emergency rooms, and trauma centers. Responsibilities Operate X-ray and other radiologic imaging equipment with precision to produce high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety. Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and oneself from unnecessary exposure. Conduct advanced imaging procedures including PET scans, DEXA scans, mammography, interventional radiology, and fluoroscopy as required. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and ensure all images meet quality standards for interpretation. Assist in emergency situations by providing rapid imaging support in Level I and Level II trauma centers. Ensure proper sterilization of equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines. Stay current with technological advancements in medical imaging and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills. Support patient care by demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and effective communication throughout procedures. Experience Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment across multiple modalities such as X-ray, CT, MRI (if applicable), mammography, nuclear medicine, and fluoroscopy. Prior work experience in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly desirable. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately capture diagnostically relevant images. Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection measures. Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using various imaging techniques including interventional radiology procedures. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to radiology and patient care protocols. Previous exposure to nuclear medicine procedures such as PET scans or DEXA scans is preferred. Ability to operate complex medical imaging equipment safely and effectively while adhering to established safety standards. $39.19 - $47.19 per hour
