Job Summary:
Ensure that the evaluation of mammography procedures are administered in a fashion that is accurate, timely, responsive and reliable. Customers served include UHSH employees, Medical Staff, patients and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to, activities that directly affect customer service.Job Responsibilities:
- Performs routine mammography as well as bone density scans and biopsy procedures as requested by referring staff.
- Demonstrates adequate radiation safety practices as it relates to both patients as well as co-workers.
- Provides patient education as required.
- Maintains the required number of CEU to maintain mammography certification.
- Establishes effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists and other department customers to ensure efficient operations.
- Participates in all Radiology Management System functions as they relate to patient procedures.
- Adheres to appropriate and accepted clinical principles, methods and procedures while performing mammography and bone density procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education:
- Associate degree in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- NYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology with Mammography credential.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- ARRT (R)(M) certification.
