A Radiologic Technician or Technologist operates X Ray, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) or CT (Computed Tomography) scan equipment to take diagnostic images of a patient. Works with doctors to obtain specific images necessary for medical diagnosis.
Responsible for the performance of general diagnostic imaging procedures on patients utilizing a computer-based system for patient record and image storage. Intern will perform exams in a variety of clinical settings within the Main and Children's Hospital on adult, pediatric, geriatric, and trauma patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
(S): High School diploma or equivalent Must be in good standing in the Penn State ARRT Allied Health program Minimum six (6) months of clinical experience as a student in the radiology department. Must have passed all related exam competencies as set forth by the program guidelines and
ARRT. BLS
certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
(S): Computer skills as well as working knowledge of hospital RIS and PACS system.
