Radiological Technician (Rad Tech)- FT Who We Are Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that has served rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties for 121 years. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care as an accredited chest pain center, and offers comprehensive outpatient, imaging, diagnostic, and specialty services. How you'll contribute Identify patients by name and birth date. Reviews order for clinical and demographic consistency and verify accuracy. Interviews patient for clinical history, reviews of previous procedures and documents relevant history for the Radiologist. Explain procedures to patients. Explain and obtain consent for contrast if needed. Prepares patient for procedure ensures prep performed if needed and checks for any artifact-producing objects. Correctly position patient for examination to be performed. Orders/performs correct examination. Performs procedures in accordance with established protocols and in a timely manner. Correctly operates radiology equipment. reparation/administration of oral and IV contrast. Performs venipuncture utilizing sterile technique (for those with the competency). Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
