Know Your Team:
Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more. Responsibilities Responsible for assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional, and quality patient care in the performance of all diagnostic x-ray examinations and transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services. Explains diagnostic x-ray procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner. Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations to include routine, fluoroscopic, portable and surgical procedures. Ascertains appropriate radiographic parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning, etc.) are utilized, providing physician with a quality radiographic image. Documents digital image with appropriate radiographic identification markers. Provides minimal nursing care to patient, ascertaining the patient is comfortable in the department. Seeks additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary. Enters and retrieves patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System in a proficient manner. Prepares and maintains department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information. Adheres to appropriate radiation safety, practicing the concept of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). Ascertains that Joint Commission, local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies' requirements are met. Performs quality control on equipment and notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or a graduate of a military Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program as indicated on DD Form 214. Current ARRT (R) certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current MRT license - Medical Radiologic Technologist certification issued by the State of Texas. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Previous employment as a Radiology Technologist.
