Category Imaging - MRI Job Type Travel Nestled in the charming surroundings of Ashland, VA, this travel MRI Technologist opportunity offers an exceptional blend of professional growth and enriching life experience. Take your skills to a new level in a state-of-the-art hospital radiology department, where you'll engage alongside seasoned technologists and collaborate directly with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams. This assignment delivers valuable exposure to diverse imaging protocols, leadership approaches, and the most current GE MRI equipment, adding new dimensions to your resume. During your assignment, take advantage of nearby historic sites and natural retreats, turning each day off into a rewarding adventure.
Schedule/Hours:
40-hour guarantee, 8-hour days Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm On-call rotation: 4 days per month
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience in a hospital setting Proficient with GE MRI equipment (1.5T and 3T preferred) ARRT (MR) certification required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required prior to direct patient care) Experience with PACS preferred Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred Comfortable working with all patient populations except pediatrics
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MRI exams per established protocols under physician direction Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to protect patients and staff Select appropriate imaging sequences and parameters; ensure quality and accuracy of all data Administer IV contrast agents as needed Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions Provide patient care, education, and clear instructions before, during, and after procedures Contribute to training new staff and oversee MRI students within the department
