Job Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a registered Imaging Technologist, Radiology Extern 2 will perform a variety of tasks and procedures in accordance with completed competencies and unit needs. Identifies own learning needs and seeks opportunities to enhance practice knowledge base related to imaging and the imaging process in which they learned in class and practiced in the school setting. Assists the healthcare team in implementing the plan of care and achieving desired patient and unit outcomes through effective communication and collaboration. Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding. Assists radiologic tech in performing a variety of examinations by using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School or GED. Full-time student in good standing in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Must be 2nd year in an accredited
Radiologic Technology Program Certification:
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association upon start
