401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Job Summary We are seeking a Resident Activities Director to join our team! As a Resident Activities Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the events and activities our residents experience on a daily basis. This will include making a schedule of events, planning seasonal activities or outings, and coordinating with other staff members (including nurses and aides) to make sure there is something for every resident to be involved in. The ideal candidate enjoys planning events and outings, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and has a compassionate, considerate personality. Must demonstrate patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm. Responsibilities Create a monthly plan of activities and events for residents of all skill and ability levels to enjoy Arrange for residents' parties and entertainment presented by outside groups and act as a liaison with local senior centers Participate in Manager on Duty program Manage the budget of the department appropriately Assist in orienting new residents to the community by introducing them to residents and staff members and showing them around the community Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Previous experience in a similar residential facility desired Previous event or activity planning experience desired Compassionate, understanding personality Excellent communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills A valid driver's license Provide marketing support within the community by participating in tours and discussions with potential residents and their families Must be able to use standard office equipment, which includes, but is not limited to, a personal computer, copier, and fax, and be able to operate an automobile and van Freedom from illegal use of drugs Prepare and carry out special projects as assigned Physical Demands Ability to assist residents on and off a bus, van or car, and required to move or arrange furniture for activities and/or climb, stoop, bend, kneel, push and reach to carry out any activity. Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds Ability to remain calm under stress
