Your Mission:
To ensure enrichment programs of recreation and socialization activities, designed to rehabilitate, increase self-esteem and maintain and/or improve the skills of the residents. To provide quality activity programs. Identify interests of residents. Key Responsibilities:
Plans and provides programs that meet the four components of successful aging: physical, social, intellectual spiritual Ensures completion of assessment of the residents' needs, level of function, leisure interests, history and goals and plans within required state regulations Ensures Care Plan meetings are attended, and meaningful input is provided relating to overall observations regarding problems, strengths, and goals in terms of the resident Displays a cheerful and positive attitude while responding to the needs of residents, family members, visitors and team members Communicates to department heads, general staff, residents and families, the schedule of planned activities using calendars and announcements. Current calendars will be posted throughout the community and kept within the community for timeframe required by state regulations Maintains daily individual records regarding type, frequency and level of participation in activities provided. Solicits and documents resident participation in activities Oversees volunteer program, recruits, trains and supervises team members and volunteers to effectively contact and use community resources Conducts Resident Council Meetings on a monthly basis, recording issues discussed and follow-up. Keeps records of meeting minutes. Assists in planning and presenting in-services to team members when necessary Works closely with Social Services to facilitate coordinated approaches to resident needs Assists the residents and their families with orientation and adjustment to the community Contributes to the monthly newsletter as needed Trains, evaluates and coaches Life Enrichment team members when necessary Shares ideas and suggestions to the Director of Life Enrichment Attends educational meetings related to the position when available Performs other duties as designated by the Director or Manager of Life Enrichment or Administrator.
Your Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Must be certified or be able to obtain National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) certification within the first year in position Experience in event planning process from start to finish Proficient in Microsoft Word and Publisher Ability to learn to how to navigate through necessary computer programs
