SUMMARY:

The Graphic Arts & Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of graphic production activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer, quality, and delivery requirements. This role provides direct floor-level leadership to production personnel, ensuring schedules, priorities, and manufacturing plans established by management are effectively communicated and implemented. The supervisor supports graphic production processes including digital printing, screen printing, laser marking, metal photo, and related applications, while monitoring product quality, equipment performance, and workflow efficiency. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, technical understanding of graphic manufacturing processes, and the ability to lead and motivate employees while maintaining a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PRODUCTION:

• Ensure work assignments are in coordination with customer quality and delivery specifications, both internal and external.
• Understand the operational aspects of graphics production, including the functionality of equipment such as CO2 Laser, Digital Print Press, UV Screen-print, Metal photo, and other graphic applications. This includes maintenance protocols and documentation
• Supervise a variety of manufacturing personnel in the set up and operation of graphic production equipment, including: Using customer approved art proofs for department first piece inspections for production runs. Accurate job set-up and scheduling with attention to detail, high quality of print accuracy, and meeting of testing requirements. Troubleshoot as required.
• With support of team, work with Manager and Graphic Arts Associate to ensure floor controls are in place to meet External and Internal Requirements. Artproofs and First Article documents Production Files (Laser files, Print files, Recipe Cards, etc.) Production Visuals (Display Boards, etc.) Film Output, ensuring accurate capture of customer approved graphics and standardized layout
• Participate in daily departmental meetings to align staff with production strategies and goals, challenges, and successes. Provide daily status reports for management teams.
• Run weekly below minimum reports and work order release process to ensure the order needs and minimum stock levels are monitored and met.
• Maintain digital inventory in department logs and ERP system, including but not limited to closing work orders, reviewing and tracking non-conforming materials, transacting substitutions, etc.
• Assist with creating and maintaining departmental documentation including job travelers, employee output reports, Department Performance Indicators (DPIs) etc.
• Maintain and monitor department support supplies via FIFO and KanBan systems. Perform cycles counts as needed.
• Monitor equipment status including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance.

Perform light maintenance as required. Engage Manager when equipment is non-functional or at risk.

OTHER:

• Review/maintain documented department work instructions, training documents, flow charts, and visual controls per ISO requirements when necessary.
• Crosstrain employees, both new and established, for specific assembly functions.
• Safely follow and enforce established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, ensuring all employees perform their duties using approved safe work practices and properly wear and utilize required safety equipment.
• Participate in Engineering initiatives such as Engineering Research & Developments, Engineering Change Notices, and Safe Launches.
• Ensure area is kept clean, organized, and presentable.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE

• Must have 2-3 supervisory experience
• Must have a minimum of 1-2 years production experience, graphic arts a plus
• Quality driven with strong communication skills
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English
• Ability to perform basic math
• Ability to work independently and as a group
• Ability to occasionally work varied hours based on business needs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Occasionally walk across the street between locations.
• Ability to communicate clearly on the phone.
• Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 50 pounds or less.
• Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
• Applicants should have a clear vision, correct color perception and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to stand for 1-2 hours sporadically, if needed, through an 8-hour workday.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Warehouse/production type facility, mostly through the use of hand loaded and unloaded equipment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

:

• Basic leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus
• ISO knowledge/experience would be a plus
• Understanding of Digital Printing, Screen Printing and/or Laser Marking for Metal Substrates would be a plus.

Computer Skills:

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Graphic Arts Skills (Adobe Suite, Corel Draw, or like)
• Knowledge of Fiery Command Workstation a plus.
