Overview We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Activities Director to lead engaging programs and recreational activities within a senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for enhancing residents' quality of life through creative, meaningful, and well-organized activities. This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a vibrant community atmosphere. The Activities Director will coordinate diverse programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs ensuring an enriching environment for all. Duties Develop, plan, and implement a variety of recreational programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity for residents. Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, and themed activities to foster community engagement. Collaborate with caregiving staff to tailor activities that meet individual needs. Maintain detailed schedules of activities and ensure timely execution of daily programming. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and encouraging participation in activities. Manage activity supplies and resources efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines. Lead and supervise activity staff or volunteers, providing training on program development and resident engagement techniques. Experience Proven experience in activity planning within assisted living facilities, and independent senior living environments. Strong background in recreational therapy or therapeutic programming for geriatric populations. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that cater to diverse resident needs and abilities. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes.
