4 :00 PM-8:00 PM, five days per week, either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday based on resident activities, special events, and facility needs. Position Summary The Activities Coordinator is responsible for providing structured, engaging, and appropriate recreational activities for residents during late afternoon and evening hours. The purpose of this position is to increase healthy socialization, reduce excessive unstructured downtime, encourage participation in positive leisure activities, and support a safe and therapeutic residential environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and facilitate structured recreational activities for residents. Develop a weekly activity calendar that provides a variety of options based on resident interests and abilities. Coordinate supervised indoor/outdoor activities.
Facilitate activities such as:
Games and group activities Arts and creative activities Fitness/sports and light exercise Outdoor recreation Themed evenings onsite Holiday and seasonal activities Wellness and mindfulness activities Encourage resident participation while respecting a resident's decision not to participate. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents at all times. Monitor resident behavior and immediately communicate safety concerns, behavioral changes, or other concerns to the appropriate CSS, nursing, or clinical staff. Follow facility procedures regarding resident supervision, elopement risk, emergencies, contraband, and prohibited items. Ensure activity areas and supplies are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Maintain an inventory of recreational supplies and communicate supply needs to leadership. Assist with coordinating evening recreational schedules around meals, clinical programming, medication administration, phone calls, and other scheduled activities. Support a calm respectful environment. Follow all facility policies regarding confidentiality, resident rights, HIPAA, safety, infection control, boundaries, and incident reporting. Perform other activity-related duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Must be able to participate in indoor and outdoor activities, remain on feet for extended periods, and respond promptly to residents or facility emergencies. Role Boundaries The Activities Coordinator does not provide psychotherapy, clinical counseling, nursing services, medication administration, or independent clinical assessment. Clinical, medical, behavioral, or safety concerns identified during activities must be immediately communicated to the appropriate facility staff.
