Responsibilities Develop, plan, and execute a variety of engaging recreational activities and events that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs. Coordinate resident outings, special celebrations, and themed events to foster community spirit and resident participation. Collaborate with care teams to incorporate therapeutic activities such as recreational therapy and memory care programs for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and encouraging active involvement in activities. Manage scheduling for activities staff and volunteers to maintain consistent program delivery. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, feedback, and activity outcomes to continually improve program offerings. Communicate effectively with families and team members about upcoming events and resident progress. Lead efforts in program development that promote aging issues counseling, socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while creating a lively environment that encourages fun and engagement. Experience Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or long-term care settings. Nursing home experience is highly preferred; familiarity with geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory support is essential. Strong background in recreational therapy or senior care programs that enhance quality of life for older adults. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs related to aging issues or cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents, families, staff, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Experience developing innovative programs that promote resident engagement and well-being within a senior living environment. Leadership skills to coordinate team efforts while fostering a positive atmosphere focused on resident-centered care.
