In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and implement engaging programs that promote mental, emotional, and social health for seniors. Your leadership will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, ensuring residents experience joy, purpose, and connection every day. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals navigating aging challenges and health issues. Duties Develop and oversee a comprehensive calendar of recreational activities, events, and programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities Coordinate with healthcare teams to integrate therapeutic activities such as recreational therapy, memory care exercises, and dementia-friendly engagement strategies Lead efforts to create inclusive social events that encourage community participation among residents with diverse needs Assist with planning special celebrations, outings, and intergenerational activities to enrich residents' lives Collaborate with staff to support residents' participation in daily living activities (ADLs) like hobbies, socialization, and wellness routines Manage scheduling for programs and staff to ensure consistent delivery of engaging activities Provide counseling or guidance on aging issues, memory care strategies, and caregiving best practices to staff and families Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior or memory care populations Strong background in long-term care, home & community care, or related senior services with knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and dementia care Familiarity with recreational therapy techniques and working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments Excellent communication skills for collaborating with residents, families, staff, and external partners Ability to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as hobbies or social engagement activities Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple programs simultaneously while maintaining flexibility Knowledge of aging issues counseling and social work principles relevant to senior care environments This role is essential for fostering a lively, supportive community where residents thrive physically, emotionally, and socially.
