Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful programs within a senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and needs. Duties Develop, plan, and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents' physical, emotional, and social needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, and themed activities to promote community involvement and resident rapport building Collaborate with caregiving staff to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and ensure their participation in programs Manage scheduling for activities, ensuring timely execution and smooth operation of all events Maintain detailed records of resident participation, program outcomes, and feedback to continually improve offerings Foster strong relationships with residents by understanding their preferences and personal histories to create personalized engagement opportunities Lead a team of activity staff or volunteers, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality program delivery Requirements Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes Strong background in working with seniors, including those with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments Knowledge of geriatrics, aging issues counseling, and best practices for dementia care and memory support Excellent communication skills for engaging residents effectively and coordinating with families and staff Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, scheduling, and communication purposes Demonstrated ability to develop innovative programs tailored to diverse resident needs Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs within a long-term care setting Leadership skills to manage team members while fostering a positive environment focused on resident-centered care Join us in creating an enriching environment where seniors thrive through engaging activities that inspire joy, connection, and purpose.
