Sunrise is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to residents, families, and staff across our Nursing, Assisted Living, and Independent Living communities. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve seniors through faith, ministry, and connection. This is a part time position approximately 20-25 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
Lead worship services, prayer groups, Bible studies, and spiritual programs Provide pastoral counseling, bereavement support, and crisis intervention Offer one-on-one spiritual visits, including in-room visits for residents with limited mobility Coordinate with local clergy when needed for services or coverage Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members Maintain accurate records of services and attendance Collaborate with a multi-faith team to support residents of all backgrounds Provide occasional spiritual education/in-services for staff 2-4 years of chaplaincy, ministry, or related experience Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field preferred (not required) Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to plan, organize, and lead regular services and small groups Alignment with Sunrise mission, values, and ethical standards Compassionate, respectful, and resident-focused approach Flexibility to adjust hours based on resident needs (within budgeted hours) Physical Requirements Ability to stand up to 50% of the day Ability to lift up to 35 lbs Ability to walk across campus buildings as needed Valid driver's license
