Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Activities Coordinator to design and implement engaging recreational programs for our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for enhancing quality of life through meaningful activities, with extensive experience working with seniors, including those with memory impairments. This role offers an opportunity to foster social engagement, promote wellness, and build lasting rapport with residents in a supportive team environment. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of resident-centered activities tailored to individual interests and abilities. Develop innovative programs that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being. Collaborate with staff across departments to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and therapeutic goals. Build strong relationships with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and needs to foster engagement. Manage scheduling of events and activities efficiently to maximize participation and resource utilization. Maintain detailed records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Experience Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within senior living or healthcare settings. Assisted living or nursing home experience is highly desirable, especially in geriatrics or memory care environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and aging issues counseling is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication purposes. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings is preferred. Strong communication skills coupled with team leadership abilities are vital for success in this role. Experience developing programs that promote resident engagement and social interaction within senior living facilities is highly valued.
