as needed Summary/Objective The Activity assistant is responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and supervising scheduled therapeutic activities for all residents. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Participates and contributes to resident care planning Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Coordinates with area churches for religious services. Assess, plans and implements activities which are within their capabilities, therapeutic needs which includes one to one activities and community functions. Strives to obtain new volunteers and is able to work well with them. Constantly strives to implement new activities each month. Ensures mail is distributed Monday through Saturday (delegate as needed). Implements arts and craft projects. Cares and maintains the aviary. Contributes to organizational operations by performing other related duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
