SALARY The minimum salary is $22.448 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 516 FILING

DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to organize, develop and supervise specialty recreation programs and activities for any assigned location or facility. This position leads the William Wells Brown Community Center and the partnership of that space with the attached community elementary school. The position is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of programming and supervision of part time staff to include: daily communication and collaboration between Parks & Recreation and school staff regarding shared facility use, program creation and implementation, schedules, equipment and supplies building and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations and partners to support ongoing programs and partnerships coordinating multiple activities and programs simultaneously to accommodate the high volume of youth, adult, and senior participants served Strong candidates will be community-driven and able to demonstrate professionalism, strong problem solving and organizational skills, time management and staff supervision.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job Two (2) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops, implements, and supervises program and/or facility activities and events Coordinates efforts to improve programs through program evaluation, community outreach and marketing Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinates, volunteers and contractors Oversees program and facility budgeting, finances and purchasing Performs administrative duties related to goals, objectives and performance including but not limited to scheduling, data entry, reporting, and maintaining inventory of supplies Enforces rules and regulations of recreational facilities to maintain compliance and ensure safety; oversees facility maintenance and repairs, as needed Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid Driver¿s License First Aid and CPR/AED Certifications must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16. In addition to the above standard requirements, this position requires Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) checks before employment Must be able to work weekends and evenings, holidays, perform on-call duty and split shifts when required to best serve the public in offering recreational opportunities.
