Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Coordinate resident events, outings, and special celebrations that encourage community participation. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual needs to personalize activities effectively. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including mobility support and participation encouragement. Maintain accurate records of resident participation, activity feedback, and program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement. Collaborate with team members such as nursing staff, social workers, and caregivers to integrate activities seamlessly into overall care plans. Manage scheduling of activities efficiently to maximize resident engagement while respecting individual routines and health considerations. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or long-term care settings. Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities, including dementia or Alzheimer's care. Knowledge of geriatrics, memory care techniques, and aging issues counseling is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents and team members alike. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for record keeping and program documentation purposes. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs tailored to diverse resident needs. Experience working in senior living facilities or home & community care environments is preferred.
