Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities for residents in a long-term care or memory care setting. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and overall well-being. The Activities Director will work closely with staff, residents, and families to create a vibrant community atmosphere. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the interests and needs of residents. Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation from all residents. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with residents' health and wellness goals. Maintain schedule management to ensure all activities are well-organized and effectively communicated to residents and staff. Foster relationships with community organizations to enhance program offerings and provide additional resources for residents. Train and supervise volunteers or staff assisting with activities, ensuring a supportive environment for all participants. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through resident feedback and participation levels, making adjustments as necessary. Communicate regularly with families regarding upcoming events and resident involvement in activities. Qualifications Experience in caregiving or long-term care settings is preferred; familiarity with memory care is a plus. Background in recreational therapy or event planning is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. Ability to manage schedules effectively while being adaptable to changing needs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial. A compassionate approach towards enhancing the lives of residents through engaging activities. Must be organized, creative, and enthusiastic about creating an inclusive community environment.
