Duties Develop and implement a dynamic calendar of recreational activities that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions Lead group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise classes, and social events to encourage participation and community bonding Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to identify individual needs related to memory care, dementia, or other health issues Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous engagement opportunities Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during activities, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere Maintain accurate records of participation, resident preferences, and activity feedback to continually improve program offerings Experience Prior experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of senior care practices, including Alzheimer's care, memory care, and dementia-specific programming Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is advantageous Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents of varying cognitive levels and backgrounds Familiarity with assisting residents with ADLs during activities to promote independence while ensuring safety Background in home & community care or social work enhances ability to address aging issues counseling and holistic resident support Proven ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting quickly to changing resident needs This role is vital in creating a lively community where seniors feel valued, engaged, and supported.
