Job Description

Job Overview The Activities Director plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in senior care facility (Group home with 4 residents). This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging programs and activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of residents, particularly those with memory care challenges, and physical abilities. The Activities Coordinator will foster a supportive environment that encourages social interaction, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation. Duties Design and implement a comprehensive activities program that caters to the interests and abilities of residents. Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational therapy sessions that promote engagement and well-being. Collaborate with other staff to ensure activities are integrated into residents' care plans. Assess residents' needs and preferences to tailor activities accordingly, ensuring inclusivity for all levels of ability. Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve programming. Skills Experience in event planning and recreational therapy is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff members. Creative thinking to develop innovative programs that meet the diverse interests of residents. Compassionate approach towards seniors, ensuring their dignity and respect are upheld at all times.
