Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain a comprehensive activities program based on residents' individual interests, needs, abilities, preferences, and care plans. Conduct or coordinate activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical movement, creativity, relaxation, and emotional well-being. Provide a variety of activities Provide one-on-one and small-group activities for residents who are unable or unwilling to participate in larger group programs. Develop activities appropriate for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, physical limitations, sensory impairments, and other cognitive or functional limitations. Maintain an accurate and current monthly activities calendar and communicate scheduled activities to residents, families, and staff. Assist with planning and coordinating resident outings and transportation in accordance with facility policies and applicable requirements. Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise activity staff, volunteers, and community groups as appropriate. Develop relationships with local schools, churches, civic organizations, entertainers, veterans' organizations, and community groups to enhance resident programming. Coordinate special events and activities involving residents' families and the surrounding community. Document residents' activity interests, participation, responses, and progress as required by facility policy. Participate in resident assessments, care-plan meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate. Maintain activity supplies, equipment, decorations, and program materials within the department's budget. Monitor and maintain an organized, clean, and inviting activities area. Assist with surveys, audits, quality-assurance activities, and regulatory compliance related to the activities department. Maintain required records and documentation in accordance with facility policies and applicable federal and Missouri requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in a nursing home, assisted living facility, rehabilitation center, or other senior-care setting. Experience developing and coordinating recreational, therapeutic, social, or community programs preferred. Experience working with individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community organizations. Ability to plan and prioritize multiple activities and responsibilities. Must demonstrate patience, compassion, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with older adults. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an Activities Director, Activity Assistant, Life Enrichment Director, Recreation Director, or similar position. Certification or education in therapeutic recreation, activities, recreation, gerontology, social services, or a related field. Experience with electronic medical records or computerized activity documentation. Experience supervising staff or volunteers.

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
