A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Summary:
Under indirect supervision, provides, oversees, and/or administers a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention services in a high-intensity clinical environment which requires a high degree of independent decision-making. May be asked to lead, or train lower level counselors, students and/or interns engaged in therapeutic patient care activities, as appropriate to the individual position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provides individual, group and family therapy and subsequent paperwork. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team Participates in peer review process for therapists All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification Requirements:

Experience:
An Associates or bachelor's degree in social work, Counseling or other Human Services field or have equivalent experience with certification with two years of experience with the population served; Qualified Professional (QP) designation required. And one year of experience working with Adolescence.
