We believe recreation transforms lives and can be a pathway to independence, confidence, connection, community participation, and quality of life. We are looking for a Full-Time Recreational Therapist in Wake County, NC who is excited to provide meaningful client services while also helping us build and grow our programs, partnerships, and team. About the Position This is a community-based position. Services may take place in clients' homes, communities, recreation facilities, and other settings that are meaningful to the individuals we serve. We offer a flexible schedule designed to support both your work-life balance and the needs of our clients and practice. Rather than a traditional 9-5 office-bound role, you will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule, balancing your personal preferences with client availability, community programming, and business requirements. To support this model, we have an expected productivity target for billable hours per month. While you have the autonomy to manage your own caseload and daily schedule, this requires the flexibility to adjust your hours as needed to meet those billable targets. Occasionally, this may involve working evening or weekend hours to accommodate specific client therapy sessions, group programming, or professional networking opportunities. Responsibilities Provide individualized or group Recreational Therapy services in homes, community settings, and virtually. Develop creative, client-centered interventions based on individual interests, strengths, goals, and needs. Develop and implement new programs based on client and community needs. Research recreation, adaptive recreation, wellness, and community resources. Build relationships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and other potential partners. Advocate for accessibility, inclusion, independence, client choice, and meaningful community participation. Communicate proactively with clients, caregivers, leadership, and team members. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation. Participate in team meetings, training, vendor events, and professional development. Contribute to improving programs, systems, and services as Recreate Yourself continues to grow. Other duties as assigned. We're Looking For Someone Who Is Creative and able to think outside the box. Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field. Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) in North Carolina. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Also must be insured or willing to increase auto insurance for $1 mil/$3 mil. Must Ability and willingness to travel to client and community locations. Willing to drive clients in personal vehicles as needed and approved. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently in homes and community settings. First Aid/CPR Certified or willing to be certified within 90 days of hire. Ability to lift 50lbs with or without an assistive device. Access to private electronic device(s) and reliable internet for documentation purposes. 1 year of experience working with people with disabilities.

Preferred:

Experience working with individuals with neurological conditions, brain injury, stroke, developmental disabilities, or other complex support needs. Group facilitation or program development experience. Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) or other relevant specialty certification. Live centrally in the Triangle area as our clients spread across the area.
