Job Description

Certified Recreational/Activity Therapist (CTRS Required) in Grand Forks, ND •$10,000 Sign on Bonus for full-time employment•Horizon Health Corporation is seeking a Certified Recreational/Activity Therapist to work on the inpatient psychiatric units (24-bed Psych Unit) in Grand Forks, ND. We are also planning to expand to an additional 24 beds in 2026. The Certified Recreational/Activity Therapist conducts and administers therapeutic recreation and/or activity services for the facility. We are seeking any of the following- Recreational, Occupational, Music, Art, Dance and Movement, etc. therapists.

Responsibilities:
Designs and implements therapeutic activities for patients based on a thorough assessment of the patient's symptom presentation, professional/referral input and all other available data. Evaluates and documents patients' responses to treatment and progress towards goals, to develop and document recommendations for discharge and aftercare. Communicates treatment and progress results to supervisor and treatment team. Conducts individual and/or group sessions in accordance with state/regulatory standards, displays sufficient theoretical knowledge of effective treatment techniques. Provides appropriate education, resources and support for patients before, during, and after treatment. Evaluates and uses techniques, tools and resources to assist patients in treatment. Completes progress notes and assessments according to program procedures. Evaluates satisfaction resulting from the treatment provided and modifies or discontinues the treatment as needed and based upon patient progress, achievement of goals, lack of progress or change in condition. Reports and documents patient/client progress, achievement and changes in the treatment plan. Participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary and treatment teams. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
