Harmony Homes is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Assistant Director of Activities to help create meaningful experiences for our residents and support the daily operations of our Activities Department. In this role, you will work closely with the Activities Director to plan and lead engaging programs, special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance the quality of life for our residents. You will also help oversee department operations and provide leadership support when the Activities Director is unavailable. What You'll Do Lead and facilitate individual and group activities for residents Encourage resident participation and foster meaningful engagement Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing activity programs and events Coordinate resident birthday, anniversary, and special recognition celebrations Support community outings and transportation arrangements Assist with volunteer recruitment and program development Maintain activity calendars, schedules, and resident communications Take photos during events and special occasions Help create seasonal and holiday decorations throughout the community Assist with managing departmental schedules, calendars, and call-outs Maintain activity supplies and ensure storage areas remain organized Set up and clean activity and dining spaces while following sanitation requirements Provide guidance to staff and volunteers assisting with activities Assume department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Activities Director Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Associate's Degree in Recreation, Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or a related field preferred Minimum of two years of experience working with older adults preferred Must enjoy working with seniors and have a positive, compassionate attitude Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and planning abilities Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and other office software Must have a valid driver's license Must be at least 18 years of age What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Creative and motivated Reliable and dependable A team player with strong leadership skills Passionate about enriching the lives of older adults Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of others Organized and detail-oriented Why Join Harmony Homes?
