Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to enrich the lives of residents in our long term care facility. In this vital role, you will design, plan, and execute engaging recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities. Coordinate resident events such as social gatherings, outings, fitness classes, and therapeutic activities that encourage participation and foster community spirit. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual needs to personalize engagement strategies. Collaborate with care teams to integrate activities into residents' care plans, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent delivery while adapting plans based on resident feedback or changing health conditions. Communicate effectively with residents' families and team members to keep them informed about upcoming events and resident participation. Maintain detailed records of activity participation, resident responses, and program outcomes to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement. Experience Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support programs, and recreational therapy techniques. Prior work with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities demonstrating strong caregiving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to build meaningful rapport with residents through compassionate communication skills. Looking for part-time Activities staff to assist our residents.
