Overview Activities Director for Memory Care Facility in Brick NJ. Weekend Opening. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging recreational programs and activities tailored to enhance the quality of life for residents in a senior care environment. This dynamic role involves designing, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and therapeutic activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical wellness, and emotional well-being. The Activities Director will serve as a vital link between residents, staff, families, and the community, fostering an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere where every individual feels valued and engaged. Responsibilities Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific programs. Coordinate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with residents' health conditions and support their physical and emotional needs. Plan special events, outings, celebrations, and therapeutic activities that promote social interaction and community involvement. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), encouraging participation while respecting individual preferences and limitations. Manage schedules efficiently to ensure timely setup, execution, and cleanup of all activities while maintaining a lively program flow. Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and external vendors to gather feedback and tailor programs accordingly. Experience Proven experience in activity planning within assisted living facilities or nursing homes; familiarity with long-term care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments in a compassionate manner in assisted living facilities or nursing homes; Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents with diverse needs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. such as mobility support, grooming, or other personal care tasks is advantageous assisted living facilities or nursing homes; Knowledge of aging issues counseling, social work principles, or home & community care practices enhances program development. Ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
