Job Overview Vision Riverside, a premier assisted living community in New Jersey, is seeking a creative and compassionate Activity Director to lead the development and execution of life enrichment programs for our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience planning engaging activities for seniors and a strong sensitivity to the needs of individuals with memory impairment. CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner) certification is required. Duties Plan, organize, and execute a variety of engaging activities that cater to the interests and abilities of residents. Collaborate with staff to assess the needs and preferences of residents, ensuring activities are inclusive and beneficial. Facilitate programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, including exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, and outings. Maintain a safe environment during all activities while adhering to health and safety regulations. Document participation levels and gather feedback to continually improve programming. Work closely with families to encourage involvement in activities and address any concerns regarding resident engagement. Coordinate special events such as holiday celebrations, themed parties, or community outreach programs. Provide support and guidance to staff involved in activity planning and execution. Plan, coordinate, and lead a diverse calendar of recreational, social, educational, and cultural activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities. Encourage participation and foster a warm, inclusive community environment. Design small and large group programs as well as individualized activities. Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and caregiving teams to ensure holistic resident support. Maintain activity documentation in compliance with state regulations. Support memory care programming with therapeutic and cognitively stimulating activities. Provide orientation and ongoing training for activity assistants and volunteers. Communicate with family members about resident engagement and special events. Qualifications Experience in dementia care or caregiving is highly desirable. Background in social work or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial. Strong event planning skills with the ability to create engaging programs tailored to diverse groups. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. A compassionate approach towards residents' needs with a focus on enhancing their quality of life.

•CDP certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire. At least 2 years of experience in activities planning within an assisted living or long-term care setting. Knowledge of dementia-related behaviors and person-centered approaches. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Background in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or social work is a plus.
