Overview Join our vibrant team as an Activities Assistant and become a vital part of enriching the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful activities. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational programs tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory care. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a lively, supportive community where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired to enjoy each day to the fullest. Responsibilities Leads assigned activity programs. Offers adequate and diversified recreational activities to residents with sufficient supervision for each activity. Develops programs for residents including, if applicable, programs designed for residents confined to their rooms Informs residents of upcoming activities and maintains a current schedule of events on the bulletin board. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to tailor activities that support individual health goals and aging issues counseling. Greets new residents making a special effort to include and engage them in activities and introduce them to others in the community with similar interests and backgrounds May drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely delivery of programs while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous engagement opportunities. Monitor residents' participation and provide encouragement to foster an inclusive environment that respects individual preferences. Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Qualifications Prior experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, dementia care strategies, and senior care best practices. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to assist residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) while promoting independence. Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly. Must possess valid driver's license. Compassionate attitude with a passion for enhancing quality of life through creative programming.
