Job Description
Overview The Activities Director meets resident care and life enrichment needs and manages the department in accordance with resident needs, and Willow Ridge Senior Living policies and procedures which models validation, encourages resident socialization, improves daily living skills, expands personal interests, increases physical activity & education, capitalizes on resident abilities, encourages brain health, and helps residents feel safe and purposeful. Duties Researches, evaluates, approves, develops, and modifies community events and programs, according to resident interests. Lead group activities with enthusiasm, ensuring all participants are engaged and included Supervise activities, maintaining a safe environment through effective behavior management and adherence to safety protocols Coordinate special events Collaborate with team members to develop activities Develop Activity Calendars, Daily Sheets, weekly sheets, etc. and distribute in a timely fashion Maintain accurate records of attendance, activity participation, and incident reports to support program quality and safety standards Drive residents to resident outings Requirements Maintains a valid driver's license Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field with one-year related expereince. Basic knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related Dementia Experience and Knowledge in of senior living, including assisted living, Memory care, and Enhanced Assisted Living preferred Excellent child supervision abilities combined with patience and a nurturing attitude Knowledge of and/or ability to quickly master an understanding of related regulatory and compliance requirements required. Working knowledge of computers including Excel, Word, and MS Office. Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate the elderly and collaborate effectively within a team Familiarity with re-directing strategies This role is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about nurturing young minds through engaging activities.
