Duties Plan, organize, and execute a variety of resident-centered activities and events that promote social interaction, cognitive engagement, and physical activity. Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to develop programs that meet individual resident needs, including those with dementia or other disabilities. Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interaction, active listening, and empathetic communication. Coordinate resident outings, recreational therapy sessions, and special celebrations to foster community involvement. Maintain detailed records of activities, resident participation, and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Manage schedules for activity calendars, ensuring timely setup and cleanup of event spaces. Communicate effectively with residents' families about upcoming activities and resident participation. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Prior experience working with seniors, especially in memory care or geriatrics settings. Strong knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and aging issues counseling. Familiarity with Microsoft Office for documentation and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs tailored to diverse resident needs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with residents and team members. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is highly desirable.
