Duties Develop, plan, and coordinate a diverse calendar of resident-centered activities, including recreational therapy sessions, social events, and special programs focused on memory care and dementia support. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their individual preferences, needs, and abilities to tailor activities accordingly. Lead and supervise activity staff and volunteers to ensure smooth execution of programs and events. Collaborate with nursing staff and family members to incorporate therapeutic activities that support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive health. Manage scheduling for resident activities, ensuring timely communication and coordination across departments. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Coordinate community outings, resident celebrations, and special events that foster community engagement and enhance residents' social lives. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care environments with a focus on senior or geriatric populations. Strong background in event planning, recreational therapy, or program development for seniors with memory care needs. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and working with individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport through compassionate caregiving and active listening.
