In this vital role, you will design and coordinate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate diverse recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity for residents. Coordinate resident events such as outings, themed parties, and group exercises to encourage community engagement. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, needs, and abilities to tailor activities accordingly. Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living) when needed to ensure comfort and participation. Maintain accurate records of resident participation, activity schedules, and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness. Collaborate with staff members across departments to ensure activities align with individual care plans and safety protocols. Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Prior experience working with seniors, especially those with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. Knowledge of geriatric care principles, memory care strategies, and long-term care practices. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and coordinate with team members. Ability to develop engaging programs that cater to diverse needs of residents with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Experience in coordinating resident events, managing schedules, and building resident rapport. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication tasks.
