Job Description

We are looking for an energetic and creative
PART-TIME ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT
to join our team! The Activities Assistant assists in planning, organizing, developing, and executing a wide range of individual and group activities that enhance and promote the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the residents. The Activities Assistant will assist residents with returning to or maintaining their maximum level of independent functioning. The Activities Assistant works directly under the Activities Director and the Administrator. Specific Duties and Responsibilities 1. Evaluate each resident to determine needs, interests, and abilities, and develop an individual or group activity plan to meet the needs and interests of each resident 2. Plan, organize, develop, and carry out activity programs based on the needs and interests of the residents, both individually and in group settings 3. Develop activities for the Director to add to the monthly calendar 4. Work with the Director, Administrator and Social Services Department in developing and maintaining a volunteer program which includes, but is not limited to, religious services 5. Maintain all written documentation as required in the activities policy 6. Attend and participate in the Resident Care Plan meetings and other meetings as required 7. Maintain all activity areas and equipment and provide seasonal and special decorations. Work with various departments to coordinate all activities within the facility 8. Supervise, assist, and advise the Social Services Department in all areas related to resident activities 9. Assist in in-service training of staff as required 10. Provide orientation and assignment for all volunteers 11. Utilization of all possible community recreational opportunities 12. Assist all residents and representatives during initial adjustment to the facility 13. Assist in other duties as requested by the Administrator 14. Attend state and regional meetings for continuing education units in related matters 15. Serve on the Facilities committee as requested by the Administrator 16. Serve as a liaison between the residents and outside resources as needed for the special needs of the individual 17. Coordinate the overall budgeting and purchasing of the Activities Department 18. Ensure that no employee begins work before clocking in and no employee continues work after clocking out 19. Perform other duties as assigned by the governing body and/or administrator for the overall care of the residents to meet their daily needs as required by the regulations for long-term care. This assignment may be imminent, temporary, or full-time as directed by the resident's need.
