A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Community Health and Wellness, LLC is looking for professional Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to provide top notch services for individuals with disabilities throughout Texas. We have current openings in Elgin, TX. Contractors must have reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to consumer homes and facilities. Read below or check out our web site to learn more.
Job Description:
Provide one-on-one home and community Recreation Therapy to children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioral/mental health diagnoses Create tailored goals to meet the needs of individual clients Document on each session Communicate with other team members and service providers Turn in timely documentation including weekly invoicing, progress notes, and related paperwork Essential Duties and Responsibilities Must be able to travel to current or prospective clients' homes Must be able and willing to transport client(s) during client visits Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and agency-required auto liability insurance (100k/300k Bodily Injury) Must be able to communicate with health care professionals, clients, families, and the general public through verbal and written communication Must have access to a private personal laptop or desktop computer for HIPAA compliance Track SMART goals and progress through weekly documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader Implement patient care plans through home and community goal-related activities Able to work independently, manage one's own time and the time of client(s) All therapists must have the following: Resume Minimum of Bachelors Level Degree required in one of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, and/or related degree to Therapeutic Recreation
CPR/AED/FIRST AID
Certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association only CTRS or TRS/TXC certified Social Security Card Driver's License Auto Insurance (with 100/300/100 coverage minimum) Professional Liability Insurance (with $1 million/$3 million coverage limit)
