The ideal Activities Director candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and emotional well-being among seniors, including those with dementia. This role requires strong communication skills and a genuine desire to work with seniors in an Independent & Assisted Living setting. Schedule for the Activities Director Role Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30am - 5pm Responsibilities of the Activities Director Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents. Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that foster social engagement and community involvement. Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive for all residents, including those with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Provide support in assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed. Maintain schedule management for activities, ensuring timely communication with residents and families regarding upcoming events. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through resident feedback and participation levels. Work closely with healthcare professionals to integrate therapeutic activities into care plans for residents requiring specialized attention. Facilitate group discussions or workshops on aging issues, providing counseling as necessary. Requirements of the Activities Director Experience in event planning within a senior care setting is preferred. Must be 25 years or older for insurance requirements. Must be able to drive a 12-passenger bus with wheelchair lift. No special driver's license is needed. We will provide training. Previous experience in Independent, Assisted Living or Memory Care environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and recreational therapy practices. Familiarity with caregiving principles and long-term care experience is beneficial. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while being adaptable to changing needs within the facility. A compassionate approach to working with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
