Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near the beautiful resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a short 10-minute drive to the oceanfront. VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization. Position Summary:

Provides prescribed and individual recreation services to patients; assesses, maintains and develops programs to access social, cognitive, physical and emotional functioning. Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean therapeutic environment and assures that patients participate in recreation therapy activities; and documents accordingly. Supervises the Recreation Therapy staff and Interns; including time and attendance. Qualifications Job Requirements The following are the job requirements for the Full-Time Recreation Therapy Supervisor position: Undergraduate degree from an accredited school in Therapeutic Recreation and CTRS certification or licensure within the respective field required. Valid Virginia Driver's License required. 1-3 years experience working with adults within a psychiatric environment required.
