GenCare Lifestyle is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Memory Care Activities Coordinator to help create meaningful, purposeful days for residents living with dementia.

This is a unique role that combines resident engagement, dementia programming, relationship-building, and hands-on resident support. The primary focus is helping residents remain active, connected, and engaged throughout their day. This may mean leading a group activity, taking residents on an outing, playing music, exercising together, looking through a resident's memory book, helping serve a meal, or simply finding the "just right" activity for someone in that moment. The role also provides assistance with activities of daily living and personal care when residents need additional support. What You'll Do Create meaningful, engaging days for residents living with dementia by getting to know their individual interests, abilities, histories, and needs. Lead personalized activities, outings, fitness, music, social and cognitive programs while ensuring residents remain connected and engaged throughout the day. Provide hands-on support with meals, personal care, and activities of daily living as needed, while observing and communicating changes in resident well-being. Work closely with families, caregivers, nursing, culinary, fitness, and other team members to provide a consistent, person-centered Memory Care experience focused on dignity, purpose, connection, and quality of life. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Recreation, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. Minimum one year of experience in senior living, dementia care, recreation, or resident engagement. Experience developing and leading dementia-specific programming preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and person-centered care principles. Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Ability to coach and inspire interdisciplinary teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Friendly, outgoing, and compassionate demeanor Strong organization and creative skills with a Self-Starter approach always promoting team spirit in the workplace. Comfortable engaging with older adults and individuals with cognitive or physical limitations Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends Proficiency with Microsoft office, PowerPoint, Excel and other customer management databases Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the community Ability to assist with setting up activities, lifting light supplies, and supporting events Ability to drive the bus or community car to transport residents to medical appointments, outings, etc. Must be able to interact positively and patiently with residents at varying levels of independence What Success Looks Like Residents are actively engaged in ways that reflect who they are.
