1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care unit position requiring an AK license in hand and prior travel experience. Details Long Term Care facility with 40 staffed beds Assignment length of 13 weeks with 26 week option available Day (4x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (4x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts, with no rotation between shifts Patient ratio of 1:20 No on-call requirements Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities Uses ECS charting system Any scrub color permitted Requirements Active AK RN license required in hand at time of submission BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Prior LTC experience required Prior travel nursing experience required LTAC experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Skills in respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, and peripheral line care Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required prior to start Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a Long Term Care setting All caregivers must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation, with a one-time $10 fee No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26 week contract, and all RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the application Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility Free parking available onsite Facility provides shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at the start and end of the assignment, plus local shuttle service in Seward
