Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Assess patient wounds thoroughly, including evaluating size, depth, infection signs, and overall condition using advanced physiology knowledge and medical terminology. Develop individualized wound care plans aligned with current clinical guidelines and hospital policies, incorporating infection control measures and sterile techniques. Administer treatments such as dressing changes, IV insertion for medication delivery, and injection administration while maintaining strict aseptic procedures. Monitor patient progress regularly by recording vital signs, documenting medical records accurately in EMR/EHR systems, and adjusting care plans as needed. Educate patients and their families on wound management, hygiene practices, medication usage, and post-discharge care to promote healing and prevent complications. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive treatment strategies in inpatient or outpatient settings. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times during documentation and communication processes. Experience Proven experience working as a Wound Care Nurse or in a related nursing role within hospital medicine or outpatient clinics. Demonstrated expertise in managing complex wounds in diverse environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, emergency rooms, or surgical units. Strong background in acute care settings including ICU (PICU), Geriatrics, Medical-Surgical units, or post-acute care environments. Familiarity with health regulations compliance standards such as HIPAA and State Board of Nursing requirements. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Hands-on experience with IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, first aid/CPR/AED operation, and basic life support certifications. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to skin integrity and wound healing processes; ability to perform patient assessments confidently. Experience working with special populations such as pediatrics or patients requiring urgent or emergency care is highly desirable.
