Travel/Contract ER RN provides safe, evidence-based nursing care in the emergency department at a hospital near Troy, Alabama for a 13-week assignment. The role includes assessment, triage, medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, with competitive weekly pay up to $2,160.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring based on patient acuity. Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to emergent situations. Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to physician orders and facility protocols. Initiate and assist with emergency interventions, procedures, and treatments. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record. Prioritize care effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions. Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, patient-safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Provide professional, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of medical and emergency conditions. Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication skills, adaptability, and teamwork throughout the assignment.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Alabama. Current BLS certification. ACLS certification required. PALS certification required. CEN or TNCC certification required. Strong assessment, prioritization, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Skills:

12 months of Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience. Experience caring for patients across a broad range of acuity levels. Previous travel or contract nursing experience.
