THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and highly attentive Registered Nurse (RN) to join our facial plastic surgery team. The Facelift Surgery Nurse plays a key role throughout the surgical patient journey, supporting pre-operative preparation, intraoperative care, immediate post-operative recovery, patient education, and follow-up. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, calm under pressure, meticulous with sterile technique and documentation, and deeply committed to creating a safe, reassuring, and elevated patient experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, HIPAA, OSHA, infection-prevention requirements, and practice policies and procedures. Demonstrate strong perioperative nursing competency, including medication administration, IV management as applicable, sterile technique, surgical field preparation, equipment setup, and infection-control practices. Prepare patients for facelift, neck lift, and other facial plastic surgery procedures, including pre-operative assessments, medication reconciliation, vital signs, surgical readiness, and patient education. Support the surgeon and clinical team during procedures by anticipating needs, maintaining an organized and sterile environment, documenting care, and coordinating surgical workflow. Monitor patients during the immediate post-operative recovery period, including vital signs, comfort, incision and dressing assessment, nausea management, mobility, and discharge readiness within the RN scope of practice. Provide clear and compassionate post-operative education regarding medications, incision and wound care, swelling and bruising, compression or dressings, activity restrictions, follow-up expectations, and when to contact the clinical team. Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia or sedation providers when applicable, medical assistants, patient coordinators, and other team members regarding the daily surgical schedule and individual patient needs. Document pre-operative, intraoperative, recovery, discharge, and follow-up nursing care accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain emergency preparedness and ensure required clinical supplies, medications, equipment, and emergency resources are checked, stocked, and readily available. Deliver an exceptional level of patient care and service at every interaction, helping patients feel informed, supported, comfortable, and confident throughout their surgical experience. Follow established clinical protocols consistently, identify changes in patient condition promptly, and escalate clinical concerns appropriately to the surgeon or medical provider. Assist with post-operative patient calls, clinical follow-up, dressing changes, suture or staple removal when directed and within scope, and other recovery-related care. Support operating room turnover, supply management, medication and inventory checks, quality initiatives, and other clinical responsibilities as assigned by Clinical Leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or ability to obtain prior to independent surgical coverage. Strong understanding of sterile technique, infection prevention, medication safety, and perioperative patient care. Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond calmly and appropriately in an outpatient surgical environment. Exceptional communication, organization, documentation, and patient-service skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with surgeons and a multidisciplinary clinical team. Availability to work early mornings, extended surgical days, and occasional weekends as patient schedules require. Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Two or more years of RN experience in plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, ambulatory surgery, operating room, PACU, perioperative nursing, or a closely related surgical specialty. Previous experience caring for facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty, brow lift, fat grafting, or other facial plastic surgery patients. Experience in an accredited office-based surgery center or ambulatory surgery setting. Comfort working in a high-touch, concierge-style patient environment with strong attention to detail and responsiveness.

Full-time role; surgical schedules may include early mornings, extended days, and occasional weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to sit or stand intermittently for the duration of a shift (8-12 hours), push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds, and assist with safe patient positioning and transfers as needed. $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
