1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring CA RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience. Details Labor and Delivery unit caring for a high-risk OB, culturally diverse patient population RNs circulate on cesarean sections 11-15 rooms/beds with an average daily census of 15-20 and about 20 visits per day Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers given priority within their scope Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted) Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required Certifications required:

BLS, ACLS, AWHONN

Intermediate, NRP Experience with patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, venous blood draws, IV starts and maintenance, use of infusion pumps, labor and delivery management, amnioinfusion, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and C-section recovery Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, Pitocin, and Terbutaline Experience with antepartum care including sterile speculum exams, NSTs, reflex checks, obstetrical triage, and external fetal heart monitoring Newborn care experience including cord care, discharge teaching, infant identification, newborn assessment, and thermoregulation Postpartum care experience including breastfeeding/lactation support, foley catheter management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care Experience with pain management including epidural anesthesia and PCA use Experience with fetal monitoring including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external fetal monitoring Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, in a comparable specialty/setting Additional Information Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care within a high-risk OB unit First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers only after a 3-month waiting period and if living outside a 50-mile radius RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront during the application process Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) May be required to float to sister facilities near the contracted location Candidates must disclose any prior work history with a Providence facility as permanent staff, travel contractor, or per-diem/registry
